Special paradise

Special paradises (often abbreviated SP) are combat arenas analogous to dungeons in other games. Players do not compete for SPs as each explores in a individual instance; clearing an SP for someone else is not possible. Challenging and defeating the legends on one floor clears that floor and allows access to the next. The floors' legend/troop spawns are reset only at the midnight reset; recalling exploring legends to replace lost troops is practical. Army Aid tokens, Inventory Aid items, can be used to summon additional troops for one legend without recalling; they are used indirectly by clicking the + button of the SP panel.

Description

A Special Paradise is comprised of a series of floors with 5 defending legends on each. Special Paradises have been implemented on the Western-style servers in three levels, 4, 5, and 6. Level 4 special paradises have 7 floors, level 5 have 20 floors, while the lone level 6 SP in the centre of the map has 100 floors.

There are 624 special paradises, 456 level 4 and 168 level 5 special paradises [pre-v1.4 numbers]; the coordinates and legend/troop spawns are consistant across all servers.

Troops

The first two floors of all SPs are each guarded by 5 legends leading regular troops; the exact spawn of legends and troops of these floors changes with the midnight reset [GMT]. Floors 3 and higher are guarded by legends and troops that are always the same.

Level 4/5

Floors 3-7 have skilled, master, expert troops; floors 8-20 have elite troops only. Level 5 SP's will always drop Mana Stones on Floors 8-13. There is a chance to obtain a famous legend, whose ability ranges from 30-35, on Floors 3-7 of both Level 4 and 5 special paradises.

Level 6

Floors 3-7 have master troops only, floors 8-13 have elite troops, and floor 14 onwards has monster troops. Just like in the Level 5 SP's, mana stones will drop on floors 8-13, and famous legends can be obtained from floors 3-7.

Types of legends and troops

There are a variety of legends and troops found in a special paradise:

From floor 3 onwards the legend format is generally as follows:

  • Famous legend with skilled/master troops
  • Skilled/expert troops
  • Skilled/expert troops
  • Skilled/expert troops
  • Long Xu Hu or Skilled/expert troops

From floor 8 onwards, the troops are replaced with elite/heaven troops. And from floor 14 and onwards, the layout is generally as follows:

  • Elite troops
  • Elite troops
  • Elite troops
  • Elite troops
  • Famous legend, unchanging, with elite troops

The Elite troops are replaced with Monster troops in Floor 14 and upwards in the Level 6 SP.

Strategy

It is generally not advised to invade special paradises until you can invade level 10 wildlands every day without loss (if the wildlands don't have archers in them). If you can't invade a level 10 wildland, you won't be able to invade a special paradise beyond Floor 2, and, unlike wildlands, special paradises don't drop resources, which can make replacing lost troops harder.

Level 4 SP's

This strategy also applies to Level 5 SP's up to Floor 7.
In order to go the the level 4 SP, you will need a legend that is at least around level 60. Level 50 is doable, if the legend is equipped with fully-forged armour (level 40 green or blue is OK) with good gems (especially Hail Saph.) and decent artifacts (usually those from Holy Boxes; sky spears and vital runes especially will help minimize losses). Whether the legend is a warrior, seer, or monk really doesn't really matter. If you have a Famous city, you may wish to bring along skilled/expert/master troops, as they will help somewhat. Generally, the best strategy here is to use archers, and try to one-hit-kill the legends.

Because of the fact that troops don't change from floor 3 onwards, it is a good tactic to look for special paradises that don't have many archers, and send a legend with archers to train in it. If your legend is of high enough level it will be possible to kill all the troop in the paradise without losing any troops. The perfect paradises for this would have no archers at all. There are 3 special paradices that are known to not have archers: (201, 136), (324, 487), and a level 5 SP (39, 307) that has no archers on floors 3-7.

If you run into a legend that you can't deal with, use the "1 archer reducer" tactic. This involves sending a legend with one archer to attack the enemy using a reducer (a Peacemaker or the equivalent is a good choice) to reduce the enemy's numbers to something your main legend can handle.

Level 5 SP's

As the troops change from skilled/expert/master to elite, your strategy to complete them should also change. On the deeper floors, the goal of the troops is not to do as much damage as possible -- that's the job of your legend, wielding a reducer. It's to stay alive long enough so that your legend can knock down the enemy. As a result, the focus of your legends should shift more from offense to defense. It's generally advisable to replace archers with charioteers, and to use a seer. If you have very potent artifacts, you can try a monk, or a warrior may also work, if the warrior has sufficient courage. To do Floor 8, you will need a legend of around level 80 with good armour, and if you wish to make it to floor 13, you'll likely need full violet armour and good gems (such as blood rubies)on a normal legend. Floor 14 and beyond generally require a True Legend to clear; if you wish to make it all the way to Floor 20, you'll need a true legend of level 30-45 (depending on armour and troops). Generally, the last legend of the lot will the the toughest, so, if your main legend is not especially strong, you may wish to send a second or third legend with 1 archer reducers. Monks are ideal for this job as they'll be able to deal more damage with artifacts.

Items

Many valuable items can be found in special paradises. These include (but are not limited to): siderite boxes (level 40 armour, quite common), silver chests (level 60 armour, rather uncommon), gold chests (level 80 armour, rare), [[Holy Box|holy boxes (level 40-60 artifacts, quite common), and more. In Floors 8-13 of the Level 5 SP, mana stones can be obtained, which can be exchanged for level 40-90 armour, while in Floor 14 and up, there's a chance for the Shen Chest, containing decent armour for True Legends. Additionally, it is possible to get Famous Legends, whose ability ranges between 30 and 35, from Floors 3-7.
